There are times that I feel giddy and my heart is over flowing with happiness.
I took a walk around the yard today after being cooped up in the house with a bad case of the Flu. Our weather changed this past two days... we went from the 90's to the 60's and it was glorious out!
As I walked around I almost fell over with joy!
My Papaya had fruit sprouting for the first time.
Look at this beauty!
I don't know anything about growing Papaya so I'll have to do a bit of research. But I do know they get pretty big and will change from green to a reddish color when they are ready to pick.
I can't wait!
I have three plants. One is very tall and has not given me fruit in the 4 years it's been there so last year I bought two more young trees.
This new bud is only about two inches.
Wonder if I need to cover the fruit with a net? Will the birds or bugs want to eat holes in them? I think I need to do a bit of reading on how to grow Papaya.
But this piece of fruit is about 4" in length.
If your in the neighborhood and see this crazy lady dancing in the yard,
"That would be Me"
