Water Water Everywhere....

I've lived in Clearwater Florida for about 6 years now and am overjoyed with all the water..
I was asked to "Pick One Body of Water"... how can I do that when there is
so much water around me? Each photo below is a 'favorite place'.

I can literally walk to a little town called "Safety Harbor"
They have the best "Marina and Fishing Pier".  If you get out
early enough, about 7am, you can see the "Manatee" swimming
under and around the pier. Yes, Moms and Babies together, their large bodies
coming up and out of the water, to blow for air...If you bring some lettuce, they will love you!
Although I don't.. it's frowned upon to feed the Manatee! I do bring bags of bread for the "Sea Gulls".
They literally "Take if from your hand"!

I'm usually out early to walk around this beautiful area.

The above is an areal view of Pinellas County.  The photo above is where I live...Upper (East) is the Tampa Bay and below (West) is the Gulf of Mexico.  I live about 6 streets from the Tampa Bay

Here is the walkway out onto "Sand Key" Beach, Clearwater.
I love to go to this beach.. not alot of tourists go here, mostly locals.

Again, "Sand Key" beach.... The Sand is literally a "White Powder".
The above buildings are million dollar condos..

Tha'ts me and a passerby, feeding the Sea Gulls!

The above photo is what we call SR-60, or the "Courtney Campbell Causeway"
this road is about 5 blocks from my home and travels West from Clearwater Beach, all the way East to Tampa.. the length is about 24 miles on this road way!  When the Hurricanes come in, they have to close this road.. they put 'tractor trailers' on each end to block the cars from driving on it. (yes, some try)

An evening photo from the 'Safety Harbor" Pier.. I love this spot most!
It looks at the city of Tampa, across the bay!  On a clear day or night you can see the 'Space Shuttle" take off from the "Kennedy Space Center" from this view!

Below is my creek, "Alligator Creek" that runs from the Tampa Bay to The Gulf of Mexico,, East to West in Clewarwater.... It's rather shallow but many little row boats can be seen from my back windows... No, I don't have a boat, or a pier to dock a boat.
And yes, there are "Alligators" in this creek... none have walked into my yard, or at least I have not seen them do that, but I have called the "Alligator Catcher" to pick up two.. He put long fishing poles into the bank and hung a raw chicken for them. After a few hours they took the bait, then he tied them, and they were taken to his truck and released  into the "Everglades".

As I said before I've only lived here in 'Clearwater' for about 6 years. I came over from a few years in "Ft. Lauderdale" where I literally lived 2 blocks from the famous beach. My favorite pastime was at "Sunrise".. walking to the beach and watching the tractors come in and clean the sand.

My life has mostly been near water and my skin shows the damages from the sun. Brown spots are real, so now I slather with "Sun Screen" each and every day.

I'm linking up to  My French Country Home  where "Sharon" is doing an article about
"Living by Water"  She asked for a "Little Photo", my favorite body of water, but I don't have just one.
I will also be sharing this post with  A Southern Dreamer's "Outdoor Wenesday"

  3. Completely SIGHING as I enjoyed these photos. I, too, love sunrise walks on the beach. We live about an hour away, though, so I can only do it on overnight visits.

You are so blessed with such beautiful surroundings. It think they are even worth the sun damage.
    Grin.

  4. My favorite picture is of feeding the seagulls. Something so happy about it! Although, I'm not too sure if I could hang with the alligators :)

  5. Thanks for the trip back home! Growing up there I've been to all of those spots. I have never been a feeder of seagulls though. They were always like pests to me! You're a brave girl :)

  6. What gorgeous pictures those are! My dad and stepmom have lived in Port Charlotte for almost a decade now. Florida has such beautiful beaches, whenever I visit I go shell collecting. For some reason, here in So Cal our beaches don't have shells!!!

  7. Lovely! You live in a special place. Those white sand beaches are so beautiful. I live near the pacific ocean, it is cold, rough water most of the time. And dark heavy sand! None of that powder - oooh so lovely to walk in. I have a little in a container from a long-ago visit. I save sand from all the beaches I've visited, all over the world.
Thanks for dropping by from blogfrog, next time stop and say hi!!
    Have a great week,
    XO

  13. Those are some great shots of the Clearwater! I used to live in Central Florida, and we would sometimes go to Indian Rocks for the day. Other times down to Anna Maria.

I'm with you... I love and adore the water (it just makes me smile when I see it), and while I adore the Gulf and the sugar sand beaches, we are over on the Atlantic now. I'm getting used to the differences, but being in St. Augustine helps. We have a retreat there, and I love to be near the water and the bay breezes. Drop by and see the Nights of Lights. I posted about it today.

Always nice to meet another Floridian!

    Happy Outdoor Wednesday...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  14. I love your pictures, mostly I love seeing the sun as it has been a very wet long drawn out spring for me... Thanks for visiting my blog. Just to let you know, those columbines are not mine, I would love to take credit on those columbines, but I can only take credit on the photos. They were actually grown in a very famous garden about an hour from where I live where they have probably over a 100 full time gardeners... Columbine would not survive in my garden, too much wind! Oh well, nothing like admiring it in someone elses!

    Cheers Tracy

  17. Beautiful photos and thanks for the glimpse into your life. I too have always lived by the water...growing up about 5 miles from the Pacific, as an adult 1 mile, and now only 1/4 mile. I think I take it for granted almost. I need to stop and enjoy its beauty more.

  18. We had a house on Anna Maria Os near Bean point where Tampa Bay runs into the Gulf. It was beautiful. I had to sell it about 3 years ago after my husband died. I am praying for all the people of the Gulf.

  20. I can see why the 'local' place is a favorite...it's beautiful. And if the tourists don't go there often, then....it's a whole LOT better!!

Thanks for popping by yesterday, I'm trying to catch up with all my visitors this morning. The baby turtle release was a grand success...I'll have photos of this event next week on my blog.

  21. I love all your beautiful photos. They are all fabulous, but that third photo down speaks to me. I think I'll enlarge that photo onto my computer screen, get a lawn chair, a cold drink, turn a fan on "low" (ocean breeze), put on some Jamaican music, and put blinders and enjoy a day at the beach today. If only.

Thanks so much for your kind comment and encouraging words on my blog -- That desk was a she-bear to refinish, but I'm happy with it now!
