This has been such a busy month for me.. health wise... First I had heart surgery then two weeks later I got a full blown old fashion Illinois head and chest cold. I was lucky, my doctor did not put me back in the hospital..... but I did manage to sneak out to a garage sale one weekend with my sister. I was getting stir crazy and had to get out of the house.
I found this sweet little foot stool.
Wouldn't this be a nice cover for the stool?
I have a feeling she has totally forgotten all about this piece of art
dated 1999
The Ada cloth was not quite large enough for the cushion so I went to my fabric scrap box and found some nice green print to enlarge it.
My daughter has mostly dark furniture so I just cleaned the wood on the stool and left the distressed look about it... put on the new stool cushion and it turned out really nice. I'm very impressed with her cross stitch ability. Her stitching is perfect, something I'll never be able to say for myself.
Think I'll hide it away for Christmas.. I know she will love it!

ReplyDeleteI know she will love it too!! it is so beautiful, how did you end up with it? Oh, I never pass up a little stool, I just love them!

Brilliant! I'll bet she'll love it - don't you just love a gift that goes on and on?
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear that you're feeling better. I've been thinking about you and wondering how the visit with your sister is going. The little stool is perfect for displaying that piece of cross stitch.
ReplyDeleteAre you kidding me? She will treasure this ! Glad you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteLooks great. I'm like you, my cross stitching never looked perfect. In fact, most everything I make is just slightly imperfect. Don't know if it is just because I can't be anything perfectly or because I subconsciously think God would get mad at me if it were perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe footstool is beautiful, what a wonderful way to showcase your daughters cross-stitch.......something to treasure.

I'm so glad to hear you're feeling better, sorry to hear you had a cold, though. The footstool turned out so perfectly, what a wonderful use for the cross-stitch. I have many pieces lying around here that I never framed, I now have some new ideas! Your daughter will love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking this up with Junkin Finds!! I do love what you did with the footstool.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I am following your lovely blog.
