Pruning the trees...

The Lawn care guys came into my yard this week,  on a very hot summer day.  The temp at the time was 98' and the index was at 105'.  They worked hard for several hours to do a bit of pruning... the palm trees were over grown and needed a hair cut.
They all laughed at me for following them with my camera.  But I was a good person and passed out cold water and peach pie. Then when they were finished and all looking like they were going to pass out,  I turned on the sprinkler for them..  Quick way to "Cool Off"!

Love that "Chain Saw"

Then they "Cut down" an over grown "Weed" that was the size of a "Tree"

Then it all went into the "Grinder"... that was loud to say the least!

I can see the "Creek" and a "Stump"

The guys left me a good piece of "Stump"... need to even off the top and use it for a planter, somewhere in the yard!

And  "How was your week"!

I'm linking up to this weeks outdoor and garden parties

That is some hot work in that heat. I bet that is expensive getting a crew to come do that. I am glad we don't have to give our trees haircuts.

I admire them for working so hard like that. Ugh! We are busy getting ready for school and a weekend getaway. School starts next Wednesday!

Rebecca from Ella Mae's Barn Gathering called me to let me know that there was someone who used to live in Champaign!
That's exciting! We are down here west of Charleston- 45 miles south of Champaign!
Love the tree trimming- those trees sure are different than ours!
Hugs- Tete

I remember seeing palm trees being trimmed when we lived in Arizona. They have to be careful or the palm fronds can fall and trap them. It looks simple but is hard work. You were so nice to supply them with cold water.

Our week has been one of trying to stay inside in the a/c. It's sweltering hot here too.

It's so hot to do outside work. I feel sorry for those guys.
You were a sweetie to give them refreshments.

How nice of you to give them peach pie, water and a sprinkler! I'll bet they don't get such wonderful hospitality at all of their jobs! Fascinating pictures of the work they had to do, never knew those trees needed haircuts, but I guess every tree has some work involved.
Hope the weather cools down some soon! Karen

I am obsessed with palm trees. I think they are one of nature's most beautiful botanical wonders. La

That weed was a tree wasn't it? Crazy. We get trees growing in our yard too from acorns and such the birds drop. It was so sweet of you to "cool down" your yard guys!

Now you realose you have a creek after the weed is gone, you can have a swim to cool down.

I an like you, alway taking photos of workmen. Sometimes they ask me why. I tell them, I make you famous.
