Quilt Shop

I read on a fellow bloggers web site, a few weeks ago,  about a "Quilt Shop".
Not just any quilt shop but a huge shop.. She also said it was near me!

I'm really upset with myself for not saving her name or her blog! I'd love to say a proper  "Thank you!"  So please if your reading this.. send me a message!
She was so right, this shop was just wonderful.  My sister and I must have spent two hours wandering around wanting everything we saw!
We both fell in love with "Rainbows End" quilt shop in Dunedin, Florida.

click below on the URL for the shop...

The above quilts are just three of what seemed like hundreds, you will find hanging from the rafters.  The woman who owns the shop now for 23 years makes these quilts in her back sewing room and displays them over the fabrics you can purchase to make your own.

Accessories and notions up the waa-zoo!

Once you have walked through the first part of the shop you go into the Christmas Room and they have so much to choose from... the inventory is huge!

You can also purchase your fabrics pre -cut  in tiny to large pieces called
"Jelly Rolls"
No work involved there!

Here the clerk is cutting my fabric. I purchased enough to make myself a Queen size quilt.  I chose 5 prints in greens.  I might add, my fabric came from the 'Sale' room and was 50% off.   My quilt may take me a few months to get to,  with all the projects I have going for Christmas !

Here is my sweet sister who came to help me out for my month of recovery.

Look at all the patterns and books....

The Advent Calender was one of my purchases today.... It's so cute and has little pockets for toys or candy... it's going to my three grandsons in Guam.. hopefully I'll get this done before November comes to an end.
I also might add.. the prices are really wonderful... the Advent Calender panel was all of $6.50 and I have the backing fabric in my fabric box and  inside batting also, so now all I need to do is make it!

If your ever in Dunedin, Florida you must stop in this shop! This lady has Everything you need to do some serious quilting.....

Happy Crafting all!

I wanted to share my store find with you all, so I'm linking up with "Funky Junk" and "Alphabet Thursday" this week... link up here to see all the thoughtful people doing their thing!

What a fantastic place - too far for me to ever even dream of visiting it! The largest quilting shop within hours of here is no bigger than my living room. It sure looks like you had fun - thanks for sharing the photos!

What a great photo tour of the quilt shop. I'd have been hard pressed to choose just a few pieces of material. I can't wait to see the quilt you are going to make. What pattern will you make? Glad you're having a good time with your sister.

Hi Sandy, Obsessive-compulsive hoarder of fabric that I am, it's a good thing I don't live close to that shop, the lady would have nothing left in inventory.

What a great tour and I'm so happy to see you're having a good time and enjoying life!

Wow! I could get lost in there for days. Stores like this were always torture for my girls when they were small.

Oh yes! Rainbow's End is my FAVORITE quilt store in the whole world. I love Michelle. We drive all the way from Jacksonville, FL to get fabric (4.5 hour drive as they say in the South!). You will never find a better set up in the interior of a quilt store nor will you find a better selection of fabric. So glad you discovered it. All others will pale in comparison.

This looks like the kind of store you could get lost in for hours. I love all the bright colors of the fabric.

This brought back very fond memories of when I would go quilt shopping with my Grandma. She is in heaven now, but I love to snuggle up under her quilts and feel her love all around me!

Someday, I hope to make my own quilt. . .thanks for the inspiration!

What a beautiful shop and what a fantastic range of products (love the jelly rolls) I think I would be eternally indecisive in there and completely unable to make up my mind of what to buy.
Beautiful.

One word..."drool!" Next time I get over to the west coast, I am going there! I used to live in SLC, Utah, near Mormon Handicraft, and that was awesome...but this looks even better!

E for Everything! I wish there was a shop like this near me. Not that I'm much of a sewer, but I do appreciate wandering around an everything fabric shop. :-)

Your darling post reminds me of a quote:
There is vitality, a life force, energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action. And because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and be lost. The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares to other expressions. It is your business to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that activate you.
Keep the channel open.

What a seriously dangerous store.

This looks like the second best kind of candy store.

All that's missing is a chocolate bar!

Thanks for a lovely link to Alphabe-Thursday.

I looked and looked at the pictures and wanted to lock myself away for a month to play with all that lovely fabric.
