Tuesday

There are more Dolphins than I expected to see.

Our area is gearing up for the RNC and the thousands of people expected to come for the three day convention.  From what I can see the streets are getting a cleaning up and the hotels are sprucing up.  The shops and restaurants are all so happy to see the money coming as people will be spending lots of it.
I am not endorsing any party but just want to share a few of the decorations going up  around the Tampa Bay area.

I took a ride over to Clearwater Beach to see what was going on and found more Dolphins than I expected.

As you come across the causeway onto the beach drive  you will be greeted by dozens of Dolphins around the circle of  Pier 60 park.  The local business all got together and bought a Dolphin and were told to paint it with their own art work and I took a few photos as they lined the park with these really interesting dolphins. Each had a sign at the bottom with the business name.
In the banner below you can see Pier 60  as it jetties off  Clearwater Beach into the Gulf  from the park.  This pier is normally full of fishermen, and on a normal day the beach is totally full of vacationers.
Some people call it paradise.  I call it a great place to walk.

From what I was told, once the convention is over the Dolphin will be scattered around  Tampa Bay in different parks and hot spots for all to enjoy.

If you come down to  Tampa Bay in the future you may run into some of these Dolphins scattered around town.
This week I'm going to drive the area and see  more of the decorations that will be  put up to entice and entertain the visitors expected.

I'm linking up to

What a fun post! I love the painted dolphin art works. Years ago NYC had painted cows on exhibit...lol! NY is a dairy state so it made sense, I guess.

Thanks so much for your comment about my heartland barns. I really enjoyed the scenery on our cross country trip and was excited to see so many farms along the way.

Hi Sandy! Thanx for the positive words on the garden. One gift in a droughty season is better roses. Does your rose bush have black spots too? If so, it sounds like Rose Black Spot, last year was very wet here in Cleve area so all my roses struggled. We also had horrible prob with beetles last year, also ate every rose. I dont like to use pesticides so keeping air flow thru the leaves to reduce moisture is important. trimming leaves and branches also needed so contain black spot..you can dust them with chems.ugh Roses aren't easy, for sure! At times I threaten to send them packing..lol but I'm hooked and they seem to know it. The 3rd year seemed to really push , like perennials.Your blog BTW is really nice. Sunny

I love the dolphins! We do a similar thing out here with moose in Park City. It's fun and very artistic...

How exciting for Tampa Bay to be hosting such a large and important event. I can imagine how businesses are gearing up, and the ads you shared sure show off the cities excitement. Love the dolphins. I live in San Angelo, Texas...the sheep capitol of Texas...we have painted sheep all over town. Great Letter M Post. Enjoyed my visit.

When I lived in Pittsfield, MA they had something like that with sheep. I loved looking at all the colorful dolphins. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Sandy: I love those dolphins! Here in Washington State, I grew up on a small island called Orcas Island, and you had to take a ferry from the mainland to reach it--about an hour and a half one way. Sometimes we'd see dolphins out the windows of the boat! Thank you for stopping by my blog today for a visit--I sure appreciate it!

Now I have heard about all the changes to the center that they are making for the convention on the news...but have not heard about the dolphins!! I love them....in Ocala we have something similar only they are 'horses'. I like the dolphins better...will have to make a trip there soon.

The dolphins are fun. I've seen cows, horses, moose, elk and other large animals done like this but never dolphins!

What great fun it must be to look at the artwork on each of the dolphins! We have some dolphins here in my area, and a lot of mermaids. I must say, though, I like the way these dolphins have been lined up to greet visitors. Great M post!

I've seen cows like that.

But never dolphins.

Which is really too bad.

Because if I saw the dolphins that would mean that I might be close to the ocean.

And if I was close the ocean that would mean that I might be a little cooler than monsoon season in Arizona.

Sigh.

These were really, really magical!

Thanks for sharing them.

A+
