"I'm the one you see Dancing in the yard"

There are times that I feel giddy and my heart is over flowing with happiness.
I took a walk around the yard today after being cooped up in the house with a bad case of the Flu.  Our weather changed this past two days... we went from the 90's to the 60's and it was glorious out!
As I walked around I almost fell over with joy!
My Papaya had fruit sprouting for the first time.

Look at this beauty!

I don't know anything about growing Papaya so I'll have to do a bit of research.  But I do know they get pretty big and will change from green to a reddish color when they are ready to pick.
I can't wait!
I have three plants.  One is very tall and has not given me fruit in the 4 years it's been there so last year I bought two more young trees.
This new bud is only about two inches.
Wonder if I need to cover the fruit with a net? Will the birds or bugs want to eat holes in them?  I think I need to do a bit of reading on how to grow Papaya.

But this piece of fruit is about 4" in length.

If your in the neighborhood and see this crazy lady dancing in the yard,
"That would be Me"

I can relate to what you feel when I also found out my peach tree bear 5 fruits and it was ready to pick. I was only thankful that it didn't fall down so I lost the sweet peach.
I am from the Philippines and papaya is one fruit that grows in our backyard. We eat it every morning and it is good for digestion. Of course, you can google some of the nutritional value of the fruit too. But this will make you laugh, and I don't know if this is true but it decreases your sexual desire lol!!That is what I heard when I was in the Philippines. If oyster an aphrodisiac, papaya lessen the desire hahahaha.

You have good reason for dancing - so glad you're feeling better! I'll be watching to see what happens with that papaya.

I have no idea how to grow them but I'm sure you'll find out. Did you know the papaya enzyme is wonderful for your tummy? I so hope you're feeling much better! Keeping the prayers going and healing energy sent your way.

Your book is in the mail. Knowing the USPS, I hope it's there in a short time but I have no idea.

Glad you are feeling better. Wow, I'm so amazed that you grew papaya! It grows on Guam, but I never considered growing it myself.

Yay! I've never grown papaya either but I did do a little dance when my lime tree fruited!

I'm excited for you as I know how much you love your plants. I would so love to be in an area where I could grow tropical plants. I hope you'll share more pictures with us as the papaya grows and ripens.

Have a great day.

Now that is worth getting out of bed for.
I can direct you to a blog written by a woman whose family are professional growers. She is delightful and I am sure could advise you.
